The StellarTrack Matter Smart Switch (Thread) offers wall controls for a Matter smart home. Select from the 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8-button layouts and the finishes shown above. Check the selected option's price, availability and installation requirements before ordering.
In short: StellarTrack is a Matter 1.4 over Thread wall switch for Australian homes, from AU$46 (1-button, plastic panel). It works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings, comes in 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8-button layouts, and has plastic, glass, wood and metal panels. It is SAA/RCM approved for Australian mains wiring (approval GMA-528353-EA).

Quick answers
Do I need a hub? You need a Thread border router, such as an Apple HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, a Thread-capable Google Nest hub or a SmartThings hub. No Arklyfe-specific hub is needed.
Is it SAA approved? Yes. StellarTrack is certified to the Australian electronic switch standards AS/NZS 60669.1 and AS 60669.2.1 under approval number GMA-528353-EA, issued by Global-Mark and valid until May 2031. Your electrician can check it on the EESS register.
How many lights can it switch? A 1-button switch controls 1 circuit, a 2-button switch 2 circuits, and the 4, 6 and 8-button switches up to 3 circuits. Each circuit handles up to 200 W of LED lighting or 400 W of incandescent lighting.
Does it need a neutral wire? Yes. StellarTrack needs a neutral wire at the switch. Many Australian wall boxes, especially in older homes, do not have one, so ask your electrician to check before ordering.
Does it still work without the internet? Matter runs on your local network, so control from the wall and local automations do not depend on a cloud service.
Can I install it myself? No. In Australia, mains wiring must be done by a licensed electrician. In Melbourne, Arklyfe can supply and install it; call 1300 306 739.
What you need for Matter over Thread
This model communicates over Thread, rather than connecting as a Wi-Fi switch. A typical setup needs a compatible Matter controller and a Thread border router. Some hubs combine both roles; check your hub's exact model and supported features before buying additional equipment.
Compatible Matter platforms can include Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings. Supported controls depend on your platform and setup. Using a device across more than one ecosystem requires Matter multi-admin sharing and configuration; pairing it once does not automatically add it to every app.
Choose your button layout and switching configuration
The physical button count and the number of independently switched circuits are separate specifications. The 1-button model switches 1 circuit, the 2-button model 2 circuits, and the 4, 6 and 8-button models up to 3 circuits; the remaining buttons can trigger scenes and automations. Do not assume every button layout supports dimming, or that features from the separate illuminated Light & Sensor model apply to this product.
Wall-button behaviour depends on configuration. A button in switching mode may control a connected circuit; a button in a scene or decoupled mode may trigger an automation instead. Local operation also depends on the required devices and network remaining powered and connected. Remote access and cloud services may require internet access.
Check before installation
- Ask your installer to confirm wiring, neutral-wire requirements, back-box dimensions and load compatibility for the selected model.
- Use the model's technical documents to confirm supply voltage, load limits and supported functions. Contact Arklyfe if your required configuration is not clear.
- The electrical safety approval number is GMA-528353-EA. Ask Arklyfe if you need a copy of the certificate. Mains wiring must be installed by a licensed electrician.
